What is Cloud computing?

The storing of data and application on remote servers.
Accessing your data and application via internet rather than installing them on your PC or office computer.
  • Data on Cloud
Example: Google drive, iCloud, Dropbox, SkyDrive

Cloud and a Photographer
  • Without Cloud
  1. Photographer takes photos using his camera
  2. Moves to his office
  3. Connects his camera to his workstation (with good configuration)
  4. Copies the files, edit it.
  5. Takes edited copy to a photo lab to get it printed.
  • With Cloud (Example: Adobe’s Creative Cloud)
  1. Photographer takes photos using his android camera
  2. Automatically uploaded to the Creative Cloud (Adobe)
  3. Logs in his online cloud application (Photoshop) using a web browser or a middleware (Creative Cloud)
  4. Edits the uploaded photo and Print using Google Cloud Print
